About TurnkeyVN

An independent matching service for turnkey manufacturing in Vietnam, run from Ho Chi Minh City. We connect buyers with manufacturers and stay out of the deal that follows.

This page exists because buyers are right to ask who they are dealing with before sending a drawing to a website. Everything below is verifiable, and where we do not have something we say so rather than implying it.

The short version

  • What we areA matching service between buyers and Vietnamese manufacturers.
  • Where we areHo Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
  • What we are notA factory, a trading company or an agent that takes a cut.
  • How we workEmail first, written specifications, no sales calls.

Why this exists

Two groups of people keep failing to find each other.

On one side, brand owners and first-time importers with a product and no supply chain. They search, they land on directories full of trading companies, they send the same enquiry to thirty listings and get back thirty prices for thirty different interpretations of their product. The good manufacturers never see them, because the good manufacturers are busy and do not answer generic enquiries.

On the other side, capable Vietnamese manufacturers with real equipment and export experience, who are poor at marketing in English and who spend their sales effort on enquiries that were never going to become orders.

The gap is not a lack of factories and it is not a lack of buyers. It is that neither side can tell, early and cheaply, whether the other is worth the time.

That is the entire job here. We read a project brief properly, work out which manufacturers could actually carry it, and put the two in front of each other with the relevant facts already established. Then we get out of the way.

It only works if both sides trust the filter, which is why the business model is published in full on how we work rather than described vaguely.

What we know well, and what we do not

Every sourcing company presents itself as capable of everything. Here is a more useful answer.

Strong

Where we can add real value to a project.

  • Turnkey scopes where one manufacturer carries tooling through to packed goods
  • Products mixing several processes, such as molding plus metal plus assembly
  • Wood, furniture and home goods, a mature Vietnamese industry
  • Consumer hardware, enclosures and light assembly
  • Reading an incomplete brief and working out what a manufacturer will need

Possible

Where we can usually help, with caveats stated up front.

  • Electronics assembly, where component supply often sits outside Vietnam
  • Very small first runs, which narrow the field of willing manufacturers
  • Regulated categories, where the compliance burden stays with you
  • Products with tooling already built elsewhere and needing transfer

Not us

Where you are better served by someone else, and we will say so.

  • Single commodity components better bought direct
  • Projects needing a full-time managed sourcing team on site
  • Products where the design itself still has to be engineered
  • Anything requiring us to hold stock, money or the contract

How we judge turnkey capability

Anyone can put "turnkey" on a homepage. This is what we actually check before we call a manufacturer that, and it is the same list a buyer should be running.

  • Single point of accountabilityOne contract, one contact for the whole scope. Not an unnamed chain of subcontractors the manufacturer coordinates but will not name.
  • Tooling ownership written downWho owns the mold or die, where it sits, and what happens to it if the relationship ends. Implied ownership is not ownership.
  • A real golden sampleSigned off from the actual production line and tooling, not a hand-built pre-production piece that the line will not reproduce.
  • Subcontracted steps disclosedPlating, printing or heat treatment leaving the building does not remove the manufacturer's responsibility for the result. We ask what leaves and who is accountable for it.
  • Capacity checked against the orderMachine list and current backlog, not just factory size or a sales deck.

How we actually work

Small, deliberate and written down. That is a choice, not a limitation we are hiding.

  • Email firstSpecifications, quantities and decisions belong in writing, where both sides can reread them a year later. We do not run a phone sales process.
  • One person reads your briefNot a form parser and not a queue. That is why we can tell you what is missing instead of forwarding an incomplete brief.
  • within 24 business hoursA reply with matched manufacturers or a plain no. We would rather tell you we have no fit than waste a fortnight.
  • Plain answersIncluding the ones that lose us the project, such as telling you the product should be made somewhere else.
  • No pressureWe are paid when a manufacturer takes a brief, not when you sign something. There is nothing to be gained by chasing you.

The guides are the real credential

We cannot show you client logos, and we would not put much weight on them if we could, because anyone can print a logo. What we can do is write down what we know about producing in Vietnam and let you judge whether it is worth anything.

Twenty guides cover tooling ownership, minimum order quantities, factory audits, inspection standards, origin rules, packaging, the Tet calendar and what a realistic timeline looks like. They are written for buyers rather than for search engines, and several of them argue against using a service like ours when it is the wrong fit.
